RFG is committed to responsible environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. Governance practices are entrenched across the business in compliance with legislation and regulation, and in the application of the King lV Report on Corporate Governance.
Environmental key performance areas
Our sustainability programme is aligned to five of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and concentrates on the areas over which we have direct control, namely:
- Water consumption
- Energy consumption
- Waste generation
- Air emissions generation and management

Our Sustainability Efforts
Enterprise Development
RFG supports the Constitution Road Wine Growers farm in Robertson in the Western Cape through long-term enterprise development funding for the farm’s peach and apricot orchards. The farm is majority owned by over 180 black, female farm workers and supplies fruit to RFG for processing.
Commitment to our communities
The group supports community feeding organisations to assist vulnerable communities across South Africa. During the national Covid-19 lockdown RFG committed financial support of R6.3 million to provide food hampers to affected communities
Water Security
Water is a critical input in our production processes and ongoing focus is placed on improving water security.
Most recent donations
Spreading love with Ladles of Love
Partnering with Ladles of Love by donating jam which was used to turn 12 000 loaves of bread into sandwiches, and which in turn were distributed to ECD centres.
Food Hamper with Food Forward SA
We also partnered with Food Forward SA and donated canned vegetables which formed part of 200 tons of food packed and distributed by 5000 volunteers
Supporting our local communities
We love the communities in which we operate, and as such, love helping local organisations, like assissting The Pniel Villagers as they held sport clinics for 1000 children in the Pniel area.
