Employee health and safety on site
RFG continues to take all possible measures to mitigate the risk of the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure safety for all at its production facilities. The group is working closely with government authorities who have been supportive in ensuring employee wellness and safety as well as the uninterrupted business operations and supply of food products to all customers. The Department of Health as well as the Department of Employment and Labour (DOL) have been notified of all incidence of COVID-19.
The DOL conducted an inspection at the Groot Drakenstein site and dairy farm on 22 May after employees at these facilities tested positive for COVID-19. In addition to checking compliance to general health and safety requirements, the DOL reviewed the group’s COVID-19 protocols and practices and were satisfied that all the necessary measures have been taken to ensure employee safety and that all procedural requirements have been complied with.
The DOL conducted screening of employees at the Groot Drakenstein site on 26 May and will be doing additional screening this week.
