RFG Wins Award for Best Reporting and Communications

RFG Foods has received the award for the Best Reporting and Communications in the consumer products sector in the annual Investment Analysts Society of South Africa (IASSA) awards for excellence in financial reporting and communications.

The awards are voted by members of the IASSA who are the country’s investment decisionmakers and recognise the standard of corporate reporting and investor communication among listed companies.

“As a relative newcomer to the JSE, RFG is honoured to be among several of the country’s leading companies in receiving this award,” said Tiaan Schoombie, chief financial officer of RFG.

Other sector winners included Nedbank Group, Sanlam, Investec, Discovery, Gold Fields and Growthpoint Properties.

Schoombie said RFG has an active investor relations programme for a company with a relatively small market capitalisation. “RFG has attracted high levels of interest since listing, has wide sell-side coverage relative to its size, arranges regular investor site visits to its production facilities across the country and in Eswatini, and our product offering is well understood by investors.”

“We are committed to transparent and balanced reporting as well as being accessible to investors to ensure that they make informed decisions on any investment in our company.

“Since RFG’s listing on the JSE in 2014 we have strived to align with best governance, compliance, reporting and disclosure practices, and this award from the IASSA is evidence of our commitment,” he added.
