Rhodes Quality sponsors Dryland Traverse 2018

The Rhodes Quality Dryland Traverse is a four-day event that is well known for its majestic scenery and challenging trails. Making a subterranean start at the Cango Caves in the Western Cape, the breathtaking course climbs its way up the peaks of the Swartberg Mountains, offering unparalleled views.

“Three years ago we decided to sponsor the Rhodes Quality Dryland Traverse,” says Merlin Norman, Marketing Manager at RFG Foods. “Our decision was not only based on the experience that this event has to offer its participants, but also on the opportunity it affords us to give something back to the local community. We have been partners in the event ever since.”

Norman continues, “This year, we were delighted to sponsor six of the race’s young athletes and we entered two Rhodes Quality Dryland Traverse men’s teams and one ladies’ team.”

“At RFG Foods we truly value people. The communities we engage with through this race lie at the heart of everything we do. We are privileged to be able to help these athletes achieve their personal sporting goals and in doing so – we hope to leave a lasting positive impact on the Klein Karoo community. We trust that these runners will, in turn, inspire other up and coming sportspeople.”

The Rhodes Quality Dryland Traverse 2018 took place on the 1st to the 4th of November. On the final race day, Rhodes Quality together with Dryland, invited 20 scholars from one of the local school’s cross-country teams to take part in the fun. Norman continues, “We are proud to announce that our two men’s teams were placed first and second overall. We would also like to congratulate the Rhodes Quality team on a fantastic effort – and we can’t wait to see what next year’s event brings!”
