Iconic Bisto Brand Undergoes Transformation

The iconic gravy brand Bisto has been relaunched to South African consumers with innovative pack formats, refreshed packaging designs and enhanced recipes.

The global Bisto brand dates back to 1908 and is one of the market-leading brands acquired by RFG through the purchase of Pakco in 2017. The Pakco brand portfolio includes other household names Hinds, Southern Coating, Pakco and Trotters.    

Bisto Original Gravy Powder has been extended into new and innovative pack formats with re-sealable pouches for easy storage and re-use, strip packs of individual single-use sachets as well as a catering pack.

 

The Bisto Instant Gravy range has been updated with a new look and a new and improved recipe. The instant gravy comes in sachets in a choice of chicken, beef, lamb and brown onion, and cartons which offer a bulk pack of three flavours.

Bisto is also moving into the growing baking aids category with the introduction of Bisto Corn Flour. RFG aims to redefine this category where innovation is long overdue and has introduced economical single-use sachets in strip packs in addition to a 400g pack.
