Kathy has over 26 years - a long and substantial career - in employee benefits. Her primary responsibility at RFG involves the renewal and retention of clients with emphasis on strategic long-term benefits planning.
Her background includes nearly 14 years at one of Texas’ oldest domiciled Third Party Administrator, where she was Director of Marketing and responsible for overseeing all Section 125, CDHP and fully-insured ancillary products, including marketing, underwriting, quoting, new business implementation and renewal activity. Kathy served as Senior Underwriter for a proprietary fully-insured dental block consisting of over $20m in premium.
She also has extensive self-funded experience and her specialty was in Consumer Directed Health Plans.
One of the most notable events in Kathy's career has to do with serving several years ago on the committee in Washington, D.C. that was tasked with developing the HSA rules and regulations. This effort resulted in the drafting of legislation that ultimately led to the creation of what today are known as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). She is one of just a handful of people in the country that has a complete and technical understanding of CDHPs, HRAs, and HSAs.
She is active in Employee Benefits Institute of America and is currently pursuing her CEBS designation.
