RFG, Inc. was founded in 1984 by Chris John and has been serving employers ever since.  Originally, RFG had its roots deeply embedded in the Austin community.  Chris, whose expertise started out in the life insurance world, soon found himself providing retirement advice to his clients, and then group employee benefits.

For the bulk of the last 25+ years, our clients have grown from individuals, to small fully insured Austin-based companies, to mid-sized self-funded companies based anywhere in the U.S.

We have a strong understanding and belief in the reality of how complex and fluid the American health care system is.  As a result, in 2002 we co-founded United Benefit Advisors (UBA), a Member-owned alliance of the premier independent benefit advisory firms in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

We did this principally because our clients were in need of a higher degree of wisdom and skills, availability of resources and people in more than one location, and a range of services and carrier relationships that their local broker might not have been able to provide.  Today, UBA is one of the largest employee benefit advisory organizations in the U.S.

In recent year, RFG has expanded its expertise into the areas of Leadership and Employee Engagement through our affiliate company - LGL Leadership.  We believe strongly that there is a positive link between healthy and inspired/engaged employees and the overall productivity and profitability of the company.

We also have taken a leadership role in Threshhold Analytics - an innovative company involved in advanced predictive modeling for partially or fully self-funded employer groups, an area known as Medical Risk Management.
